Ordinary-looking concrete fences which are used for a protection of building or military unit are perfectly familiar to each Russian person. They consist of a reinforced concrete frame with the concrete panel which is strengthened by a wire grid. Such system provides an excellent noise isolation, and rombik decorating a fence allow dirt not to be late, being perfectly washed away by a rain.

This fence became a symbol of the Soviet and Post-Soviet constructivism long ago. And it is simple to find him — he is almost in each Russian city, personifying a remnant of the past of which our authorities aren't going to get rid.

In the early seventies the chief architect Mosgorstroymaterialy Boris Rahman was engaged in "design for the industry". Boris Rahman is surprised that his child it is still so popular in the former Soviet countries. When he has learned that in Moscow these fences have forbidden, I have supported this decision.
