The small fishing village of Houtouwan on the Chinese island of Shengshan is abandoned from 1990th years. Because of the increased competition to nearby Shanghai and reduction of fishing inhabitants have been forced to look for work in other cities, having left the coastal village on a whim of the mother nature. Today this place is visited only by the tourists wishing to see the houses which are buried in verdure, absorbed by the nature. The Shanghai photographer and the video operator Joe Nafis has visited this area last year together with the friend, the photographer Dave Tacon.
