This mysterious city has appeared soon after World War II in the USA, but was unknown to most of Americans. He has existed very not for long, exactly so much how many it was required to the authorities of the big country to solve – in secret isn't present sense any more. And now on his place something is located absolutely other, and here remind of existence of the town unless these archival photos. What secret do they keep?
The city was small, all steam of residential quarters which were located in strange proximity from airfield – noise has to be incredible
Here so the town looked from height in the 1945th – a dark stain at the left from below
World, silence and idyll
Stop, something here not that
They are the scenery which are thought up by the Hollywood architect Jon Stewart Detli. They settled down over a roof of the main assembly shop of the Boeing plant for the purpose of his masking at the attacks from air
Certainly, there nobody lived. The wire, plywood boards, false trees and is a lot of paint applied under the correct corners to create optical illusion
Inside there were huge assembly lines. Here, for example, there is an assembly of the Boeing-17F model
At the plant in the mid-forties about 30 000 men and many women worked. Rates of production were enormous: on 300 huge bombers a month!
Certainly, it was impossible to hide arrival for work and service of such crowd of people. But to spring of the 1945th it already was also not necessary, the threat of bombing passed. Here huge crowd on a meeting in honor of transition from old model 17F to new to the 29th
The anniversary, 5000th bomber released by aircraft factory
Nowadays from that shop and scenery nothing remained, today the plant looks here so
But as worked on questions of masking carefully in due time, for memory such archival movie has remained here
